I’ve been on the hunt to replace my “makeshift pseudo-RS style” door cards since I made them to replace the waterlogged orginals the 924 had come with years ago. I acquired a set of original door cards for my 924 from a friend that had a set lying in his storage unit. The reason they’re bizarre is because of the material: Herringbone Tweed.

I never even knew such an interior option existed for 924s. It must be a very early (late 70s) thing. These came off his ‘79 that he converted into an ITB racecar. One had a wee bit of water damage along the edges, but that wasn’t anything some fiberglass couldn’t reinforce! Seriously, Herringbone interiors must be rare, because I can hardly find anything on them, and this was the best pic I could find of an original interior:
