Being a bald man who regularly spends time outside at work I like to keep a straw hat around for protection. The downside is they can easily get beat up in a work truck.
You can buy hat holders to prevent this, but why do that when you have a wire hanger and some duct tape.

I may add some tape to the portion the hat actually sits on to help spread out the stress.
