Ladies and gentleman, the world's saddest model lineage photoshoot

Yes, the generational history of the SsangYong Korando.

For those not in the know, the original SsangYong Korando was a license-built Jeep CJ-7 introduced in 1988. An all-new second generation came out in 1996, and was discontinued in 2006. In 2010, the name was brought back on a completely unrelated crossover, notable for being the model that ended SsangYong’s ugly streak. And a new one came out last year.

Usually these types of photos are taken with iconic long running models like the Corvette or the Land Cruiser, the idea of SsangYong thinking their model is in similar leagues is kinda hilarious. Also the new Korandos were just given the name of a previous SsangYong model, and have no real connection between, and this shoot just emphasises the obvious disconnect. It also makes the new models look way lamer in comparison to the older ones.

I’m still glad they did this shoot though.
