Some I have driven, some I have not. Some I regret, some I don’t. Most are sedans, some are *Shudder* crossovers. Ok here goes...
2017 Fusion sport- I was close to leasing one. I was on the forums since the time it was announced. It was one of the best new sleepers IMO at that time. Yeah it was no American Audi S4, but it was handsome looking and powerful. And then the problems started coming in, dead batteries and other crap. So many of them were lemons. abandoned the idea. Dodged a bullet there.
Its older cousin the 2014 MKZ 3.7 AWD. Thought it would be a fine fast luxury sedan with decent handling. Didn’t test drive this but I did drive a 2.0T AWD and was not impressed. Myford touch was a pain. New Sync 3 is very good.
2012 Acura RL. I have always wanted to own a SH-AWD acura. Thinking back this is something I’d probably buy 10 years from now when I am in my 40s.
Legacy 3.6R- Glad I didn’t go this route because that CVT was so bleh- tried it in the Forester and WRX
Subaru Forester XT. Again THAT CVT but thought the turbo would make up for it, a sleeper family vehicle (At least it was back then). Thought I was ready to move from sedans, glad I was wrong.
Regal GS. Read a lot of good reviews about it but decided to go for a RWD layout again. Also the resale value was atrocious
Hyundai Genesis 5.0R spec. Loved the idea of ta RWD v8 Korean super sedan but apparently has lot of oil consumption problems, and the fuel efficiency is bad.
GS350 F sport- This, and the Acura TL SH-AWD were in my top 3 pics before I went with the G. Also looked at the IS350 but it was cramped. Would have been a solid choice, even if not as sporty as I wanted.
2014 C300 4matic- Good overall car, not great in any one aspect. Only thing was 248HP/251 Lb-ft was not big jump from the 230HP e90 I had. Decided to go for more performance.
Ex35- is basically a lifted hatchback G37. I would have been Ok with this. I like the way the FX looks as well. That with the 5.6V8 would have been awesome crossover regardless.
BMW X135i- I would have gone for this with the M sport package exactly as shown in blue or orange, or better the 335i but a BMW to BMW move was boring and I wasn’t too excited about the N55 turbo reliability. This would have been a great sporty yet practical vehicle though as it is based on the RWD e9x series.
What do you think? Good, Meh, Terrible choices?
