I’m off today and bored so here’s some news I think might have been missed.
Next Focus RS could get a mild hybrid
Autoevolution reports that the next Focus RS, supposedly coming in ‘22, will have a variation of the Ecoboost with a mild hybrid system. They are saying output could be 400 horses. Whether any of this is true remains to be seen. But ultimately it doesn’t matter as the US wont get it anyway.
Jag dealers have huge discounts on the XF Sportbrake:
Automobile/Motor Trend reports that some dealers across the country are advertising the XF Sportbrake for $20-30k off. Why? Because they don’t sell so many most likely have been sitting. So if you want one get one because this thing wont survive another gen.

From Autoevolution, they imagine what a Charger coupe would look like. But with the Challenger existing, this thing is most likely going to remain a glimmer in someones eye.
VW is goign to offer incentives to dealers to sell EV’s:
InsideEV’s reports, via Automotive News, that VW “ will provide a 50-percent “factory match” to U.S. dealers that are prepping to sell the automaker’s upcoming family of EVs.” They want dealers to be prepared to not only sell them, but be able educate buyers and have a charging infrastructure. The program though will be voluntary, so it’ll be up to dealers if they are interested.
CNBC thinks Gen X & Millennials are key to the C8 succeeding
The article mentions that the C8 was made to bring new, younger buyers to the brand, which are badly needed. 61% of Corvette buyers were 55 or older through last year. Its cute they think we can afford a $60k+ mid engine sports car though. Here’s to wishful thinking.
