Think about it. One of if not their most important EV’s debut from a luxury brand that has been struggling isn’t launching in the US for another year or 2. They aren’t taking any reservations or releasing any information regarding range or price for it either. Instead its launching in China first. Then the US. That should tell us everything we need to know. Contrary to popular online opinions, people aren’t interested in EV’s here yet. Range anxiety, a serious lack of infrastructure investment (for some reason companies keep investing chargers along major highways. As if everyone is wanting to go across country with these things. Build charging stations like gas stations. It makes more sense.) and a price that even with tax credits is still pricey has turned off or disinterested consumers here in the US.

Meanwhile China has been more welcoming of EV’s. Tesla dominates in China of course, but while here in the US where they sell thousands per month while other brands sell hundreds, they just sell thousands of EV’s overall. EV sales there are crushing it, making China the largest market for EV’s in the world. By the time this thing debuts, it will most likely be playing catch up to Tesla yet again, attempting to lure Model X buyers over on what will most likely be on their 2nd or 3rd vehicle.
