How the Cadillac Lyriq got its name...

After reading this a while back:

I’ve been thinking about the REAL story about how the Lyriq got its stupid name.

And I have a theory... and it goes like this:

A bunch of marketing guys from GM went to a local bar one night and got somewhat gassed. While this was happening, a song that mentions Cadillac came on.

And one of the guys said “What’s this song about?”... and another guy said “Just listen to the lyrics”

And then a third guy said “I like that word... Lyric... I like how it rolls off the tongue and ends in a ‘k’ sound... Lyrrriic... LLLLLyrrrriiiic... “

And the first guy said (as he downed a shot of whiskey) “Hey... let’s name that stupid CUV thing we’re making for Cadillac the Lyric... but we’ll change the C to a Q so we can patent/copyright the name”

And the second guy said “You know what we could do? Get rid of these stupid CT/XT model names weird old DeNysschen forced us to use and replace them with model names that end in Q, but phonetically sound like K!!!! IT WOULD BE GLORIOUS!!!”

And then they gave each other a bunch of high fives.
