Spark Plugs - They Need To Be Changed Sometimes

The 8-Fiddy had been throwing the occasional CEL for Cylinder 1 misfire. I just clear it with my scan tool and go about my merry way. Well yesterday on my way home it started doing it repeatedly - I’d clear it and within a couple minutes it would come back. I had spark plugs on hand and was going to do it this weekend but I said screw it, got out the work light and tools and did them last night. It was a quick and easy job, although my “pre-gapped” plugs were definitely not, so as a word of advice, mind the gap!

WOW! What a difference that made on my drive in to work this morning. The car ran so much better, basically all the shudders and hesitations are gone! I thought a lot of that was transmission, but now I’m not so sure, and I have a lot more confidence in the car. I don’t know why I didn’t do this first thing when I got the car, but I’m so glad I did it.

To top it off, one of the gate guards complimented the car on the way in. Today is starting off pretty good!
