Gm finally is ahead of the curve on one thing that is actually imprortant-value.
Let me explain- with horsepower being cheaper and cheaper, performance cars haven’t become less expensive, if anything. Besides a few exceptions that fill the role like the base trim muscle cars and such, everything else has been getting better, but not necessarily cheaper.
As someone who wants something exciting, the base mustang just doesn’t do it for me, despite its performance chops. Basically, I want a hotwheels car.
While the c8 isnt my cup of tea- I love the price/performance/ridiculous factor it occupies. 500 ish hp is plenty for me, i want to up the nuttiness factor and the c8 delivers. I hope automakers chill out with the magazine numbers now and focus on what they are good at: volume, volume, volume.
