Just recently updated to full coverage on the ‘bird to reflect its status as a moble vehicle. Surprisingly affordable. Roughly 47$ a month for decent coverage, listed to drive about 1000 miles per year which seems pretty darn accurate for the mean time. 10k insured value, which should about cover parts. A little slop for my labor, but doesn’t really account for that....
For those in the dark, you may want to get declared value insurance on any car older than maybe 20 yrs old, as the “blue book” value likely won’t reflect reality. Any modifications will likely only add to this. Personally, I feel loads better knowing exactly what would happen in this situation even if the reality would still be pretty damaging.
I like how fancy hagerty feels compared to geico. Even if it really isn’t.
