I started a Mastodon server for Oppo.

What is it?

It’s like Twitter or Facebook, but open source and decentralized. You just need an email address. No one will own your information.

Is it a blog?

No. It has a character limit of 500 characters, but you’re fine to link out to your personal blog or link to a Google doc. Most posts here are short, so maybe it’s worth a try as a replacement. You can always break your posts up?

Haven’t we tried something like this?

Yes. There’s an Oppo Discord, Facebook group, and my attempts at moving to Wordpress and Medium. All of them have their deep flaws. Discord is nice for live chat but not super easy to use and live chats can get a little toxic - same complaints as Facebook, really.
