An Exhausted Leak

I sometimes wonder why I like cars...

In the further adventures of all the ways in which my wife’s MDX sucks, we’ve developed a an airbag error code that only goes off when I sit in the driver’s seat and move it back so I can fit. After some research, it appears to be a wire under the seat. I’m sure I should do something about it, but I don’t really drive it that often and I don’t want take the seat out.

The MDX also had a check charging system error message come on for a couple days that mysteriously went away. I don’t know if it’s because I checked the battery terminals and found a couple leaves that somehow got underneath the cables or what.

I fucking hate this car.

As I’ve said, I’m not keen on sinking more money into this heap, but I’m at a loss on what makes more financial sense, keeping it or trading it in despite being upside down on the loan.

In other, but sorta related news, my GTI had to get an exhaust leak fixed. It wouldn’t have been a big deal, but the exhaust gasket was bad. No big deal to fix, right? Wrong. The manifold bolt at the #4 cylinder broke.

The ordeal to get that bolt out added more time to the repair (obviously), which was already quite a lot, due to the shop needed to remove the turbo to get at the exhaust manifold.

I could hear my already depleated finances and nearly maxed out credit card weeping and laughing at me in unison.

So this has been a painful week that I am glad is pretty much done.
