This weeks shirt is from Dale Coyne racing and it is one of my favorites. The shirt is of worn heavy cotton and has iron on labels instead of expensive embroadery. Its a working man’s shirt from a working man’s race team.

Dale Coyne racing was founded when he entered Indycar as a driver in 1984. If you live around Chicago, you can see their shop on the east side of I-55 headed towards St Louis. Dale Coynes team hit it’s stride with the arrival of Justin Wilson in the 2009 time frame.

Dale’s current drivers are Santino Ferrucci and Alex Palou.

Their accomplishments include

First Indy car Season: 1984

Indy car Wins: 6

Indy car Poles: 2

Indy car Starts: 869

First Indy car Win: 2009 (Justin Wilson, Watkins Glen)

Best Championship Finish: 6th (2013: Justin Wilson)

Justin Wilson arrived at Dale Coyne racing because of grit, hard work, and certainly not because his money. He was a great match for the team. Unfortunately he met his untimely demise during the 2015 Indycar race at Pocono.
