Another Illinois Oppo Finds an old Friend

Yesterday I sent shop-teacher an ad that turned out to be the scooter he sold not too long ago. As coincidence would have it, I also found an old two wheeled friend as well!

I sent my Honda Rebel off to a new home back in mid August. I rode it roughly 1,000 miles (I thought 2k, but apparently I’m wrong) before I graduated to my Goldwing. It was the bike that showed me I loved the looks of a classic bike, but with a liiiiitle more power.

The buyer who took it off me was looking to learn how to ride using it. He only rode it 100 miles before putting it away. He certainly dropped it a few times in those 100 miles as the tank has a lot more dents and more rust than before.

Here’s the mileage before:

And as it sits now with him:

It looks like he also made his own straight pipes out of the factory pipes, then deleted the front reflectors. I’m happy to see my LED headlamp still working strong.

Unlike shop-teacher’s scooter’s new owner, the Rebel’s new owner is trying to sell the Rebel for a flip. If he waits long enough for MSF season to start I think he’ll easily get what he’s looking for it.

I’m kinda surprised the Rebel was the first of my sold bikes to show up and not the Buell. Mechanically the Rebel was absolutely awesome, but the Buell was already becoming a basket case.

Maybe this trend will continue and it’ll end up in the hands of another new rider. :)
