集会 literally means nothing more than “a gathering,” but apparently this is the 6th annual event. It’s sort of a smaller and milder Wekfest, a show focused on Japanese tuner cars.
Aside from the expected smell of weed (surprisingly, not that many vapers), a forest fire also blanketed the Bay Area with smoke. Senpai/Hentai-themed shirts were everywhere, and worn by people of all races. Lots of families with little kids too; everyone seemed to be having a good time. Some incredible engine swaps as you can see in the photos!
I mingled for a short while with some friends, until introvert mode kicked in more suddenly than VTEC, yo.
