Left work early to go pickup my father-in-law an hour and change away who was stranded northwest of Columbus.
His rav4 got in a 5 car pile up in which he was car 4. Seemed like minor damage to him at first until he started driving and within a 2-3 miles he saw the temp gauge go through the roof. So he pulled over and once I showed up we arranged a tow.
I wasn’t surprised that it was overheating (even in 30F weather) given the wee the car left where he’d parked it to wait for help.

Given this puddle, I suspect this is going to be one of those surprisingly expensive repairs for the other guy’s insurance.
