The Cybertruck is ugly. But these bland, bulbous, space-inefficient trucks are also ugly. Wanna know why?

Because even if Americans want trucks for none commercial use for some goddamn reason, these are meant to work commercially. they have a separate bed, good ground clearance, and in many cases ease of repair.
When you don’t have a complex internal combustion engine, or AWD drivetrain to fit in, you can do a lot more with all that real estate, and there’s no good reason for it to look like a regular truck. If the bed is already decently big (6'5" in the case of the tesla) you can get away with making it unibody, and attain better handling.

worst thing is that according to some, generous, specs, the cyber truck would be better.
