Ever since 2003, Real Madrid and Audi have had a commercial agreement where Real Madrid players get to choose from a bunch of Audis to daily drive from their homes to their training facilities.
Perhaps the strangest thing about this publicity stunt is that these high-performance athletes, who live in a Spanish city with a central congestion charge, and super smooth pavement... mostly chose huge Diesel SUVs...
in fact, eleven Q7s and seven Q8s were given away, all of them with the well known Diesel V6.
Only one of them chose an EV... while the trainer and two more players chose a gasoline car; the RS3 sportback.
I’m also starting to believe Audi lowered their budget, since Sergio Ramos went from an R8 spyder in 2017 to a Diesel A8 from 2018 onwards.
