According to the state police of Quintana-Roo, this morning an army helicopter opened fire on this Hawker private jet (Registration XB-RCM), which in turn landed on a Federal highway.
The police say the jet was supposedly used by a cartel to transport drugs. Three theories are entertained right now:
1. The jet was set on fire by the army helicopter, and it landed already lit, the crew escaped into the jungle
2. The plane landed without issue and then the crew set it on fire after they escaped.
3: The plane landed, the crew took a bunch of drugs out of it and then set it on fire, then also abandoned the car they used to escape km after.
How does an army helicopter down a private jet capable of flying at twice the speed? Mexico only has a dozen or so fighter jets, and last time I checked they were stationed in Santa Lucia AFB near Mexico City, not in the Yucatan peninsula.
