I have finally and officially been promoted! It’s long over due and the process stretched out for an unbelievably unprofessional amount of time but here I am. I’ve been with the company 6 years and we have more than doubled in size, so we are dealing with the “good” problems of a small company becoming a large company really fast.
One of those problems, was letting your boy nearly drown before offering help in the form of a help desk associate, advancement, and obviously a pay increase. I am now the “Director of Information Technology”, up from “IT Manager”.
My former boss came in to talk about how the dynamic will change now that we are equals, and he caught me unnecessary car shopping. He said, “What else could you possibly want now!?” To which I responded, “The same thing every hardened Bimmerhead wants”...a Porsche!
