A Condor Airlines A330 en route from Frankfurt to Cancun had to divert to Shannon, Ireland after the pilot spilled his coffee into the radio located in the center console. First the captain’s radio shorted out and started smoking, then the first officer’s radio overheated and failed. The flight deck crew donned oxygen masks due to smoke in the cockpit, and the airliner landed safely. Condor is looking into getting cups that actually fit into the cup holders.
