“Mid sized” is stupid because there isn’t any trucks for sale under them for them to be a middle anything. Third ton isn’t accurate but none of the “ton” designations are literal any longer and better describe the ratios between the truck classes. Most mid size trucks have about 2/3 the payload of a full size truck, and 2/3 of 1/2 is a third. This also leaves room for the compact truck to return as quarter ton trucks.
