Quick Update

Haven’t been posting much lately, just been busy. I wish I could say that I’ve been busy wrenching... Did get some stuff done, though.

After getting sideswiped a few months ago, I learned that I didn’t have the right-of-way that I thought I had, and as a result, insurance wasn’t going to do me any good. Fortunately, most of the damage was concentrated on the mirror, which took about 10 minutes to replace. There is still a bit of a dimple on the rear quarter too, but it doesn’t really photograph well with my crappy camera phone. And it’s even less noticeable after a dab of rubbing compound so I might just live with it.

So all things considered I guess I got off okay, and learned a valuable lesson: Speeding, even if it’s to block someone trying to merge from the shoulder where they were passing, immediately forfeits right-of-way. I don’t like how it worked against me here, but apparently that’s how the law works around here. It is what it is.

Saab updates: none. The car has been sitting untouched for several weeks, not so much because of the cold, but because we’ve just been too busy with other stuff to coordinate and make any progress on it. The engine’s all back together, but it can’t go back in until the rest of the rust repair is done.

So it sits. Remember that deadline we set a few months back? Yeah, so much for that lol. We’ll get it done, eventually.

Oh, and I still have to post the conclusion of that Corolla project I had going on a few weeks ago. Almost forgot about that. I’ll give that its own post later and wrap up that little series.
