...it’s the only way. The car is to new and connector is not available solo just yet, so a new wiring harness is the only repair to get paid by Mercedes-benz warranty.

He drove it here, he was also grinding metal on metal with the inside brake pad. Caliper was covered with metal shavings but he didnt believe us when we told him he needed rear brakes. So we replaced the studs, cleaned up the mating surface, made him sign a waiver and sent him on his way.

Towed in, No Start. When checking for spark I found this. Turns out, the PCM was bad (surprise) and turning the ICM off and on rapidly, causing it to spark every time. This may be the strangest “bad PCM” symptom I’ve seen.

97 Toyota Camry! ...the v6

Not the original motor unfortunately. The original motor lasted until about 850k which is still very impressive. Honestly the customer isn’t very routine with this car, he goes way over oil change due dates and has run low on oil several times, so I was genuinely surprised when he made it to 850k before the motor just had enough lol

[Ecotec vvti solenoid] I put a whole new engine on it

There’s still oil on the ceiling from the last car I put one of these engines in. It shot oil through the spark plug holes and completely locked up. Ended up disassembling the bottom end to be able to spin it around and undo the torque converter bolts so I could replace that engine too
