Can anyone think of specific luxury brand models that outsold their non-luxury brand’s counterpart?

For some reason I now forgot, I am trying to understand why the Venza never sold well and was subsequently killed off. I see them on the streets daily and they fit right in with the crossover/SUV masses. But when it was released it never came close to the same number of units moved as the Ford Edge, Nissan Rogue, and others in that class.

Then I looked at the sales figures for the Lexus RX... and it’s been consistently flying off dealer lots. The RX is based on the same Toyota K-platform as is the Camry and Venza, so I think the comparison is fair.
