An “early adopter” friend of mine just got a new Rift S, and he let me borrow his Rift to see if I’m interested because he wants to sell it.
Last night I got the Rift set up with Project Cars and my Logitech G27 wheel & shifter, and it was flippin’ amazing. The added situational awareness and immersive feel is inestimable.
Even though the new price is a little steep at $400, it’s a steal at half that for a used set in great shape. I’d think now is the time to find more of these out there as people upgrade their units to the newest ones. Plus, if all you’re going to do is drive with your own wheel, I suppose you don’t even need one with working hand touch controllers, and you might be able to find steeper discounts for those.
